Fees & Policies
Everything you need to know before you start — fees, lesson structure, and how the studio works.
Lesson Structure

Fees
Shared Lessons
36 lessons a year
2–4 students per group
Shared lessons run 35–45 minutes depending on group size. A warm, social way to learn — students motivate each other and often become great friends.
Private Lessons
36 lessons a year
One-on-one with your teacher
Private lessons are 30 minutes, one-on-one. The programme is tailored entirely to you or your child, with undivided attention every week.
Fees are divided into 12 equal monthly payments, charged automatically on the 1st of each month.
How Fees Work
Tuition is divided into 12 equal monthly payments, charged automatically on the 1st of each month. You set up your payment details once and it's handled from there.
Why is the amount the same every month?
You're not paying per lesson. You're paying for 36 lessons across the year, spread into equal instalments. Some months have five lessons and some have two, and the payment stays the same — so it's a figure you can budget around all year.
What does the fee cover?
More than the time in the lesson. It includes planning your individual programme, Simply Music licensing, materials, insurance and ongoing professional training.
Fees are reviewed each year, and you'll always get a full term's notice of any change.
What If I Miss a Lesson?
Your tuition reserves your weekly lesson time for the whole year, so missed lessons aren't refunded or made up. But you don't have to lose the week. There are two options:
If you know in advance you'll be away
Send a video of your current pieces and I'll send back detailed feedback during your lesson time. Or I'll set a project to work on while you're away.
If you're mildly unwell
Take the lesson online instead of in person.
Just let me know by 12pm on the day so I have time to set up.
Running Late
Lessons start and finish at their scheduled time. If you arrive late we'll make the most of the time left but still finish on schedule. If the timing is regularly difficult, talk to me and we'll look at moving your slot.
Stopping Lessons
If you'd like to stop, please email me at least four weeks before your final lesson. I'd always rather know early than be surprised — if you're thinking about it, just talk to me.
Photos and Video
I sometimes take photos or short videos in lessons and at studio events for my website and social media. Where children are involved I avoid showing faces wherever I can, usually filming hands at the keyboard, and students are identified by first name only or not at all. If you'd prefer not to appear, just email me. You can change your mind at any time.
Getting in Touch
Best for most things — I'll usually reply within three days.
SMS
If something is urgent on the day, an SMS number is provided after enrolment.
I'm almost always teaching, so please don't call.
